IT Product & Test Engineer - Eurofighter Support Systems (d/f/m)

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Requirements Capturing Management (RCM): Align and capture functional, content-related, and procedural requirements with both internal stakeholders (e.g., SUZ EF User Help Desk) and the national German customer (specifically the Air Force and BAAINBw).
  • Process Analysis: Analyze the In-Service Support processes of the Eurofighter weapon system, track process changes regarding their impact on ASTECS, and subsequently derive and document requirements.
  • Test Management & Strategy: Implement the test strategy for ASTECS, including translating requirements into test designs (e.g., creating and enriching User Stories, acceptance criteria, and activity diagrams within Enterprise Architect).
  • Quality Assurance: Support QA through test execution (both specific manual tests and automated test runs), evaluate the results, and feed them back into the software development process.
  • Documentation & Templates: Create and maintain various documentations within the development lifecycle, such as Release Notes, the ASTECS user manual, and various templates within the tool.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Education: University degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline, OR vocational training combined with equivalent professional IT experience/specialist IT qualifications.
  • Software Engineering: Sound knowledge and experience within software development projects up to the point of customer delivery, including familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Database & Tooling: Good knowledge of Oracle / SQL (Programming Language SQL). Experience with Confluence, Jira, Enterprise Architect (specifically UML knowledge) and QF-Test is highly desirable and a major advantage.
  • Testing Expertise: An ISTQB Certification (or equivalent) as well as practical experience in automated testing are strong assets.
  • Domain Knowledge: Previous experience with In-Service Support processes, particularly regarding flying weapon systems (e.g., Eurofighter), is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills & Languages: Excellent communication skills, autonomy, a high sense of responsibility, resilience, and strong assertiveness. Negotiation-level proficiency in both German and English is required.
