Windows Systems Engineer – DevOps & Windows Server 2025 / PowerShell (Freelance | Remote within Germany | Long-term)

We are looking for a Windows Systems Engineer with Devops interests who is looking to move further into DevOps, to join an enterprise operations team in a security-sensitive environment. The role is fully remote — but must be performed from within Germany only. Initial contract up to one year within a framework agreement; overall project has strong long-term security (3+ years).

Responsibilities

• Operation and further development of Windows Server 2025 environments
• Application operations: deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting
• Automation using PowerShell and Batch scripting
• Taking on DevOps-adjacent tasks and workflows as you develop in the role
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation

Must-Have

• Knowledge of Windows Server *****)
• Experience in application operations within enterprise environments
• PowerShell and Batch scripting skills
• An interest in and understanding of DevOps workflows

Nice-to-Have

• Puppet, Ansible or comparable automation tools
• VMware / Hyper-V

Security & Access Requirements

This role requires a clean police background check, willingness to undertake a SÜ2 security clearance, residence in EU/NATO member states for the past 5 years, C1 German, and remote work exclusively from within Germany.

Project Details
