Technical Expert Product Manager for Joule Orchestration (f/m/d)

Joule is SAP’s generative AI enterprise copilot, natively embedded across our cloud portfolio to help every user work smarter, faster, and with confidence. As the Expert Product Manager for Joule, you will own the end‑to‑end product vision, roadmap, and outcomes for your product vertical. You will harmonize experiences across lines of Business, partner with AI platform, design, and engineering, and engage directly with customers to shape high‑value skills and agentic workflows. Your mission: deliver trusted, lovable capabilities that drive measurable business impact at scale.
What you bring
This role owns the distinct product vertical of Joule orchestration and is accountable for its end-to-end product strategy, including roadmap, backlog, and quarterly OKRs. The role leads intake, prioritization, and portfolio reviews for the vertical across lines of businesses and defines how the vertical contributes to the overall Joule experience. Acting as the connective tissue between customer needs and engineering execution, the role continuously navigates trade-offs with a strong data-driven mindset, always putting the user first. It applies product discovery practices to deeply understand user problems, validate solutions, and inform prioritization. The role drives prioritization of core capabilities relevant to the vertical—such as intent decomposition, orchestration logic, skill invocation, context propagation or memory handling —ensuring consistent, scalable adoption across key scenarios.
- 8+ years in product management for enterprise SaaS; 2+ years building/shipping AI capabilities, assistants, or agentic features.
- User & customers obsession: run CABs, present to executives, translate insights into clear priorities, PRDs, and launch plans.
- Metrics-and data-driven, structured, and decisive; excellent stakeholder management and influence without authority.
- Proven success owning cross-product roadmaps and delivering at scale in a matrixed, global organization.
- Deep understanding of LLM productization: data readiness, grounding/RAG, tool/function calling, prompt ops, evaluation, monitoring, and cost/perf trade-offs.
- Experience defining conversation UX, multi-turn flows, and quality bars; hands-on with offline/online evaluation and A/B testing.
- Strong data science and evaluation mindset: ability to design and run accuracy evaluations, work with golden datasets, define metrics and benchmarks, and partner with data scientists/engineers to continuously improve orchestration accuracy
- BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related; MBA/PhD is a plus.
