In this role, you will have a profound impact on software engineering productivity by helping design and build the next generation of productivity applications used by Apple engineers. As a member of the team, you will contribute to technical discussions, learn from experienced engineers, and grow features from concept to launch.
responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated, high-performance applications.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including HI designers, project managers, and engineers, to define and deliver world-class features.
- Contributing to architectural and design discussions alongside senior engineers, ensuring our solutions are robust, scalable, and forward-thinking.
- Writing clean, elegant, and well-tested code that meets the team’s standard of quality.
- Actively seeking and giving feedback in code reviews, and growing through pairing with experienced engineers in a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Taking ownership of your work across the full development lifecycle, from initial concept and prototyping through to testing, release, and post-launch support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to workflow orchestration frameworks such as Temporal.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, networking, or security.
- Experience with databases (relational and NoSQL databases like Cassandra)
- Experience with app development (macOS and iOS)
- Experience with server side development and systems programming
- Interest in growing into technical leadership of larger features and collaborating across organisational boundaries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in at least one server-side language (Swift, Go, or equivalent).
- Foundational knowledge of problem solving, software architecture, debugging, and testing.
- User-focused: passion for quality, attention to detail, and delivering outstanding user experiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple locations and time zones.
