Creative Director (Brand) (d/f/m)

Brand strategy and differentiation

  • Define and evolve Personio’s brand strategy and positioning for Europe, clarifying what we stand for, what makes us distinct, and how we translate that into consistent expression across markets.

Creative direction and craft leadership

  • Set the creative bar for Personio and raise it continuously. You’ll shape concepts, give crisp feedback, and ensure excellence across design, motion/video, and experiential.

Design leadership

  • Lead our in-house creative studio as a high-performing service for marketing and adjacent teams, effectively balance quality, speed, and stakeholder needs.

Brand identity and creative systems

  • Own and evolve our visual and verbal identity, guidelines, and creative system. Create strong guardrails and practical toolkits that enable teams to ship great work at speed.

Integrated brand campaigns

  • Lead the development of brand campaigns and activations, translating strategy into work that drives awareness, preference, and trust, and supports marketing priorities.

Brand experiences (events)

  • Oversee the strategy and creative expression of key brand experiences (Tier One industry events and HUG, our annual conference) ensuring they feel unmistakably Personio.

Team and vendor management

  • You will lead and develop a team as well as manage external vendor relationships to deliver on your brand objectives.

The right candidate will have a proven track record of building brands people remember and the ability to operationalize world-class creative in a fast-moving business:

  • B2B brand builder: You have 10+ years building and growing a B2B brand and understand how trust, differentiation, and clarity drive commercial outcomes.
  • European market sensibility: You have strong intuition for European markets and culture, and you can build a consistent brand across countries while tailoring execution to local nuance and relevance.
  • Design fluency and craft leadership: You have deep fluency in design and brand craft and a proven track record leading creative teams. You can set a clear creative point of view, run effective critique, and give specific, high-signal feedback that consistently uplevels quality across brand identity, campaigns, content, motion/video, and experiences.
  • Strong product thinking: You understand how the product reflects and supports the brand and can provide actionable direction to feature-building teams on how to integrate brand standards in ways that elevate the product experience for customers.
  • Strategic builder: You can craft a clear strategy for how to build a strong brand, set priorities and a roadmap, and establish and track brand health metrics to show progress.
  • Operational and commercial acumen: You can run a high-performing creative function at scale—balancing quality and speed, managing budgets, and driving accountability across multiple agencies and vendors to deliver consistent results.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management: You can lead diverse teams and influence senior stakeholders with confidence—pushing back when needed while keeping momentum and trust high.
  • Language: You are fluent in English. (German is a plus)
